4 Natural Alternatives to Your Morning Cup of Coffee




 It's no secret that that the west has been addicted to caffeine for many years now, so much so that it led Great Britain to dealing opium to the Chinese beginning a series of wars. And we all know that few Americans can go a day without their morning cup of coffee. Coffee is a rich source of caffeine with 95 milligrams per cup, and thus provides the kick that many to start their morning. Coffee has its downsides, however, associated with the excess consumption of caffeine. Nature has provided a few healthy alternatives. All stimulants, of course share these effect and should be used sparingly, but here are few alternatives nature has provided.


1.Tea
Tea, both hot and cold, has long been known for its stimulating effects, though more mild than coffee they do possess comparable amounts of caffeine and thus carry a lighter kick. This natural alternative also provides a source of healthy antioxidants. Not only but that some studies have suggested that black tea may be beneficial in regulating blood pressure. This may be due to the presence of L-Theanine, a substance known for dilating the blood vessels, which is also found in green tea. 
Green Tea possesses an average of 35 milligrams of caffeine per cup but can go as high as 50 depending on the strength of the tea. Black tea contains an average of 47 milligrams of caffeine for each cup. This is compared to the 95mg found in coffee.

Green tea is popular served with honey to sweeten the deal, and a bit of ginseng for an extra kick. 

2.Apples

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but not only that it can also jump start your day when eaten in the morning. Some people have mistakenly believed this is about because apples possess similar amounts of caffeine. Actually this natural alternative source of energy is derived from the natural sugar found in fruit. The sugar is counteracted by the fiber in fruit thus allowing to be released more slowly into the body. This allows us to enjoy a nice energy boost without worrying about an evening crash. 

3.Apple Cider Vinegar
If an apple a day is simply too much to chew try a few tea spoons of apple cider vinegar. It may not taste great, but this substance, derived from fermented apple cider contains many beneficial pro biotics and has been shown in some limited research aid in regulating the blood sugar. Jump starting the metabolism,, this healthy alternative has also been shown effective in weight loss. It is taken early each morning with juice or water for a nice energy boost.


4. Ginseng
Ginseng is a natural stimulant native to the Asian continent and commonly used in countries like China and the Koreas as a way to fight the effects of fatigue. Like many stimulants is a natural appetite suppressant and stimulates the metabolism, making it effect in weight loss. Some studies have also suggested it may be helpful in reducing blood sugar and in combating the effects of a stressful day. It may even be beneficial in boosting the immune system.
